Antique Quebec Carriole or Cutter Sleigh
Straight from a Cornelius Krieghoff painting. An antique cariole or carriole sleigh, circa 1850 Quebec. Saint-Placide. Asking $2000.

I love your site, before knowing it I bought one of the items you showed in the past …
Thanks Pierre, glad you’re enjoying the blog and we must share similar tastes – what’d you end up buying?
Hij it was this one: in your calendar on november 2012
Louis XVI Dining Set
Ornate Louis XVI style dining room buffet and round expanding table, in wood with gilt mounts. Plus matching chairs for an extra $160.
Westmount. Asking $300. DEAL
They are awesome, I polishes the bronzes and thy look almost pièces from Versailles, I did not take the chairs, I,m too tall and they were not comfy , but the price was as you say Steal… BTW today I went to St Michel flea market and I found a wonderful Hepplewhite table all hand painted … yes we have similar tastes I found too … have a nice day
I remember that gilt mount set – the price was so low I suspected there must be a catch, like horrific damage somehow hidden in the pics. The table was the best piece, glad you got such a score, Pierre!
And yep, we’re on the same page: my own dining room set is Hepplewhite. I fell in love with the Prince of Wales feather carved chairs – scored them off of Kijiji last year.
Thanks for reading! Always great to hear about a “find” finding a good home
I love that wardrobe!! So much so that I contacted the owner. I’m worried that it’s too big, though – about 10 ft. long! It might be too bulky/dominant in my bedroom. If it were even 8ft I’d probably take it.
That tea table is in my apartment as I type
I found it a few days before you posted it, but it was just delivered today (+$10).
Nice buy on that table, Maria, one of my faves this week!
It’s the chevron on the wardrobe that clinches it for me, but I don’t have room either.
For anyone else considering it, it’s in 3 sections, right? Wonder if you could ditch the middle mirrored section and still have it work? What are they asking for it?
